"Health Education and Welfare"
The health system was a worry to me when I arrived. I was afraid of socialized medicine. My grandfather was a doctor, and he had visited some European country where socialized medicine was prevalent. During my upbringing he told me about how he had seen long waiting lines for needed surgery and rationalizing of supplies and facilities, and he was dead set against the system. But there I was in South Australia, and the last thing Australians want is the American style of medicine.
